Softball News

We finished the softball season this past Saturday. Shelby's team made state and they played on Saturday in Elk River and Kylie's playoffs in Brainerd were on Saturday also. So, Dan and I had to divide and conquer.

Shelby's team won the first game and lost the next two.

Kylie's team won their 1st game (on Thursday night) and lost their last two games.

   Both girls had great seasons.

Kylie's team - white hats, a few no hats and Kylie in her John Deere camo hat. Yup, that's Kylie!

Bemidji

Beautiful evening hanging out in Bemidji watching Shelby play fast pitch softball. She's playing 1st base - hitting and fielding well! We will be here awhile because the game is a double header. She will pitch the second game.

Thank you God for the sunshine! :)

We Must Be Up North

Shelby has a softball tournament today in Park Rapids today. Dan took her to school at 6:30 this morning to ride the bus with everyone else.

GUESS what? Is was snowing this morning. White covered the ground when I got up at 7. It's windy and not suppose to get above 50 degrees today.

Shelby's team is winning their first game. She's playing 1st base right now.

We're sitting in the truck right now trying to stay warm. Hopefully, it won't snow anymore today.

Fast pitch

Shelby and I were in Bemidji last night for her softball game. It was a perfect night for ball. 70s and clear. Shelby pitched the second game in a double header.

She was amazing! She struck out 7 batters and her pitches were coming across the plate fast. I told her she was large and in charge!

If I sound like a proud mama, I am! :) One of the dads asked me what Shelby had been doing and I told him that she and her daddy are in the driveway every night. He asked if Dan had a bucket to sit on and I said yup because his knees gave out long ago!

We headed home around 10 pm and it wasn't dark yet! I LOVE June! It was a full moon and as we came into a clearing there was the moon glowing over a lake. It looked like a large paper lantern.

While heading north I got a call from a friend who had taken the triplets to the beach with her kids. She said Levi had cut his foot on something on the bottom of the lake and it was deep. Dan left work early. He took Levi home and cleaned it out and butterflied it together. It probably could have used stitches but we opted for this route.

He is using crutches and hopping on one foot to get around. He's not interested in putting pressure on it yet.

So we are enjoying the beautiful days. Getting our beach time and going to ball games in the evening. Kylie's 1st game is tonight.

Like I said, summer is the bomb!

Shelby's Team Takes 1st in Tournament

Ball season is over!

The ending came a week ago when Shelby's softball team played in an tournament to end the season. Her team was in first place for the season and they ended up taking 1st place in the tournament by winning all three games they played.

Her tournament was rained out on Saturday so they moved it to Sunday. That was fortunate because we picked up my sister and nephew in Minneapolis Saturday night and they were able to see Shelby play on Sunday.

Here's a blurb in the local newspaper.

Good job Shelby!
