Twenty years

I'm so blessed to be able to say that I've been married to the greatest guy for 20 yrs today. I was 19, Dan was 21 when we said I do. It seems like so long ago and yet, just like yesterday. I'm struggling with the words that can even describe marriage and the journey we've been on. Hammersley said that the best feelings are those that have no words to describe them.

So, instead of trying to come up with my own words, I'm borrowing from some others ~ here they are.

He felt now that he was not simply close to her, but that he did not know where he ended and she began. ~ Leo Tolstoy

A happy marriage is a long conversation which always seems too short. ~ Mauroios

A promise made is a promise forever.

Are we not like two volumes of one book? ~ Valmore

There are a million things that I don't know, but one that I surely know - I love you.

Love is being stupid together. ~ Paul Valery (We have this one covered, Dan! :)

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and the breadth and height my soul can reach, when feeling out. ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning

For hearing my thoughts, understanding my dreams, and being my best friend. For filling my heart with joy and loving me without end... I do love you.

And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make for him a help mate. ~ Genesis 2:18

Love puts the fun in together, the sad in apart, the hope in tomorrow, the joy in the heart.

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be hundred minus one day, so I will never have to live without you. ~ Pooh

As Tim McGraw sings, You just get better all the time! Happy Anniversary, big guy. I love you 'til the day after forever!

Fur Trader Camp

We went down to a state park last weekend and visited a reenactment of a fur traders camp from early American history. The kids loved looking at the tents and Teepees. There were people dressed in period costumes and showing off skills like ax throwing. Shelby tried her hand at throwing an ax. It looks easier and than it really is!

They had candy for the kids that they shot from a canon. That made everyone happy! We spent a few hours looking around there and had a great time!
